There are several types of fundraising campaigns that are appropriate to fundraising
Annual Campaigns are sometimes
called "Sustaining Campaigns." Through regular, annual commitments, through
memberships and through other fundraising vehicles they provide
the funding necessary for program and administration that an organization

Capital Campaigns are the most
effective way to raise large amounts of money over a relatively
short period of time. But about eight out of every 10 campaigns stumble

A "Bricks and Mortar" campaign is another name for a "Capital Campaign."
An Endowment Campaign provides
for the long term financial health of the organization and
often uses Planned Gift instruments as the means for doing so.

A Special Project or special purpose campaign is just
that. Special fundraising for a readily identifiable purpose
that is neither bricks and mortar nor endowment nor within
the course of the usual operation of the organization and therfore outside
of the Annual Fund.
Church Campaigns are
specific to local religious organizations of any denomination
and often combine one or more of the elements of the other campaigns.
